Hello!

Available work: Are you interested in purchasing an available piece of work? First of all, yay! Next, please fill out the form below and let me know which painting you're interested in. I'll respond to your email to confirm that it's still available, and we can sort out payment, shipping, and other details from there.

Commissions: Why yes, I would like to paint a place that's special to you or a loved one. Thank you for asking!
Fill out the form below to let me know you're interested in a commission, and we'll go from there. All I will need is a picture and a little more info on your vision and timeline. (For stranger-danger reasons, I ask that you fill out the form first, and I will respond by asking for the picture you'd like me to paint.) I charge the same for commissions as I do pre-made work, so don't be intimidated. Please note that I do not paint animals or humans.

Thank you! Your submission has been received!

I'm Grace Trautman (she/her)

In October 2022, I opened a Free Little Art Gallery in my front yard (think free little lending library, but for art). Before opening day, I made several tiny pieces of art – wanting to show future visitors the wide variety of medium and skill level that was welcome in our gallery. Through this process I re-discovered several styles and techniques for making art, including printmaking, acrylic painting, collage, clay, and eventually, watercolor, which has become my preferred medium.

I decided to paint landscapes because of their vast and expansive beauty, and the challenge and delight of capturing that, and building on it, in such a small space. Because the paintings are only 1.5 x 2 inches each, I can be meticulous about every single detail, and work it until I really like what I see – while still finishing an entire piece in one evening after work.

I currently live in Denver, Colorado, USA. Although I've spent almost a decade in Denver, I am a Pacific Northwest Girl at heart, and it often shows in the subjects of my work. Give me a glacier lake and a hemlock, and I'm one happy painter!
